In this thread you will comment on the lessons that were taught by your colleagues.
You should include the strengths, weaknesses, what you liked about the lessons and suggestions for improvement.
Furthermore, discuss in this thread, how the micro teaching experience has benefited you as a teacher in training and how it will assist you in the future.

Thank you very much Deltus for creating the thread for us. I am back on the board. I encourage participants to reflect on the lessons taught, and to begin to think about modifications that you would make to enhance your future practice. Thanks a million

Firstly, I want to start by commending all my fellow classmates for putting great effort in the minilessons. I saw that we all were quite passionate about our profession.
Some of the strengths I would like to highlight are: the use of multimodal texts, in some cases, the textbook was not the only form of text used, digital text was used also. I personally liked the idea of the text messaging. Another strength I noted, was the cooperation between the team members and the classs as a whole. Thirdly, majority of the graphic organisers were used effectively. I also liked the idea of incorporating song and role play, I found that it was quite interesting and caught students attention. Finally, I found that all the activities were student centred.

Some of the weaknesses that I noted are: majority of us did not tell students what exactly they going to learn, so i suggest that we write an advance organiser on the board before the lesson. Secondly, most of us failed in asking questions at the different levels, so I suggest when we are planning a lesson, we can think of questions that we can ask students at the different levels. Another weakness is that we did not give an opportunity for studnets to ask questions, so I suggest that we always have a segment in our lessons, where we encourage students to ask questions, from that we can clarify misconceptions and get an idea of students understanding of the lesson.

Unfortunately, I am not able to comment on any of the lessons taught but mine. Generally I believe I did quite well considering that I have no teaching experience. Today was the first time I taught an entire lesson on my own. I did listen and made notes of both my strengths and weaknesses given to me by everyone. I did some reflecting and I must say that it has helped me realize all the areas in teaching which I need to focus on and improve for when I am ready to go into a real classroom setting.

generally, i think that the lessons were well taught as everyone tried their best to be as effective as possible when teaching the lessons. the studets used a variety of texts namely the use of multimodal texts, textbooks , digital text and even the cell phone. i was very impressed wen marvel and indira incorporated the text message as part of their lesson.this was commendable. our lesson was generally well taught, but we failed to give the students an idea as to what they were going to learn in the lesson. also, we did not effectively question the students, nor did we give them an oppurtunity to ask questions.

I must say i enjoyed the lessons taught by my fellow colleagues. These lessons were filled with any different stratgies and activities that were quite interestin. i do intend on using some of these approaches to enhance my teaching performance. My group did ok but there is a lot of roo left for improvement. As Bienca stated we needed to question the students more during the teaching to make the lesson more interactive and get the students to think critically. I learned alot through the coments made by both our lecturer and fellow colleagues and i would definitely use this to help me better myself in this profession.

Niki, I must admit that you did a fairly good job teaching the lesson considering that you had not taught before . You looked quite composed and seemed to have had a good idea of what you were doing. I am happy that you noted the strengths and weaknesses of the lesson and think about ways that you can improve your future practice. The micro teaching exercise was meant to help you grow as a teacher and to provide you with an opportunity to apply the different reading and writing strategies that we have been discussing in instruction. I wish there was more time to allow you to teach another lesson after having received feedback on the first one. More practice will be given next semester.

Overall the lessons and the strategies used throughout were appropriate. The students showed confidence in their presentations and that should be commended. My partner and I, in my opinion did a tremendous job in our execution of our lesson. The students were engaged and the lesson was student centered. Our weakness was not pointing out one of the strategies used. However, overall the lesson and the micro teaching experience was good.

Well, there is always room for improvement in what ever we do. i think that i have come along way compared to where i started. I notice that i did not give the students time to ask questions and i think that was one of my weaknesses. Also, Adessa and i needed to use the students' example in order to do the conclusion . We had to ask them to read what was there on the board and talk about the other examples that they did not mention. Anyway from what i saw i fine my peers did a wonderful job especially Nikia having to teach a lesson on her own for the first time. Good job.

In all, every group cooperated well. They did their best. First of all, I have to say that personally I did pretty good compare to my previous lesson that I have taught. One of my strenght was that I was comfortable enough. I was not scared or nervious. Again, I tried tas much as I could to project my voice more than I use to do. One of our weakness during the lesson was about concept map. It was not visually enough for students to read. But I believe that we did well and all the groups did well too. I like the experience.

I must admit thet the level of confidence have grown in all of us especially those students who have not taught before. It seem to me that rehersing the lesson in advance helps you realise your mistakes and it also help you plan what you say and how you say it. Delphia for one has shown remarkable improvement. I realy liked the frayer model strategy, and the way that sasha modified it to suit her lesson really stood out in my mind. This just goes to show that there is on one fast and right way to use any of the strategies, you cam always mix and matcht to suit your purposes.

Firstly I would like to commend my partner Genive for her contributions to our micro teaching lesson. Generally I found that we did well but there is still some room for improvement. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow classmates for the support they provided us with during our lesson.
This micro teaching experience has provided me with more skills and techniques to perform well on my teaching practice as well as to perform my duties efficiently as a teacher. It has also provided an avenue where by I utilized and also experienced my peers utilize vocabulary and comprehension strategies to enhance lessons.
I also want to thank my fellow classmates and miss Polius for their constructive criticisms which has aided me in developing an awareness of my weaknesses to further enhance them to deliver excellent lessons.

I DO NOT FEEL THAT I DID AS WELL AS I COULD HAVE AND I KNOW THAT THERE IS STILL A LOT FOR ME TO MASTER IN ORDER TO REACH MY FULL POTENTIAL. HOWEVER, I HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM MY COLLEAGUES AND I KNOW THAT I WILL MASTER ALL THE OBSTACLES IN MY WAY. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSSED WITH NIKI LESSON GOOD JOB. I ADMIRED THE LEVEL OF CREATIVITY MY COLLEAGUES EXHIBITED.

I quite agree with Millie when she start that our confidence has grown. i have sem this growth in even out of school as i now take part in church activities. befre it waa so difficult for me to go to speak to the congregation. Know i speak to them and i don't even need a paper to read from. I strongly belive with a little more practice we will all be ready for teaching practice. I mwas so proud of delphia. icould have done better but i was feeling a little under the weather.i will do better next time
